What the site does

GOLD1350 is a game. It converts a figure you type into a weight of gold or silver at a recent market price and compares it with historians' estimates of medieval incomes and prices. Nothing on the site is financial, investment, tax or historical advice, and the figures are approximations with the caveats stated on the page.

The free part and the Journey

Weighing your pay, seeing your persona and sharing it are free and need no account.

The Journey is a paid feature: nine chapters unlocked by a one-time payment of the price shown at checkout. It is licensed to you personally, for any pay and currency you choose to weigh, for as long as the site operates. It is not a subscription; nothing renews.

Your account

Paying creates a customer record under the email address you gave at checkout. There is no password: we sign you in on the device you paid on, and on other devices through a link sent to that address. Keep that mailbox safe; anyone who can read it can open your Journey.

Payments

Payments are taken by Stripe under its own terms. We never see or store your card details. Prices may be shown in your local currency; the charge is what Stripe displays before you confirm.

Refunds

See the refund policy. In short: within 14 days of purchase, on request, no questions asked.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to bypass the paywall, overload the service, or use the share cards and links to mislead or harass anyone. We may revoke access for abuse and refund the purchase at our discretion.

Content and sources

The pixel art, the copy and the compiled data are ours or used under licence; you may share the cards and links the site makes for you, including commercially on your own social profiles. Historical figures are cited to their sources on the methodology page.

Liability

The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may change these terms; the date above tells you when. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it. If a change materially reduces what your purchase gives you, you may ask for a refund within 30 days of the change.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which Oleg Ovcharenko is established, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live.
